Computer Engineering Department

Computer Engineering is a discipline that embodies the science and technology of design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of software and hardware components of modern computing systems, computer-controlled equipment, and networks of intelligent devices. Computer engineers are involved in the design of computer-based systems to address general public needs as well as highly specialized and specific application needs. As such, computer engineers work in almost all industries and government agencies. They design various services and products that solve many societal problems and serve people's needs. These products and services range from high-tech special computer systems embedded in airplanes, cars, and mobile phones to distributed computing environments (local and wide area networks, wireless networks, internets, intranets), and data centers for online services.

Information and Computer Science Department

The Information and Comp​uter Science (ICS) D​epartment at KFUPM was establis​hed in September 1979 and it developed and evolved over the years to become one of the active departments of the University in teaching, research, and service to the university. Moreover, the ICS department is recognized thro​ughout the Gulf and many parts of the world for its excellence in education and research. The department has about 37 full-time faculty members​ in several specialized areas of research.

Industrial and Systems Engineering Department

The department of Industrial and Systems Engineering covers the areas of excellence of in Maintenance engineering, Supply Chain management, Operations research, Quality Control and Engineering, and thus it holds a strong relationship with the local industry. The education programs at the department includes BS program in Industrial and Systems Engineering, master degree programs in Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain Management, and PhD program in Industrial Engineering. The offered programs meet international standards in terms of level and contents.

Mathematics Department

Mathematics department is one of the major teaching and research departments in the Kingdom and has prominent visibility across the globe. The department is committed to preparing its students for a variety of careers in government, industry, and teaching professions; and to advance fundamental knowledge in the areas of pure math, applied math, and actuarial science and financial mathematics through world-class research.
