Abstract:
Writing high-quality papers that could impact the technology, and the society is one of the most important elements in becoming a top researcher and academic. The choice of journals or conferences that one would publish in could also have great consequences in the researcher’s professional career, both in positive and negative ways. With the increase in number of publishers and publications venues, it would be rather easy to publish anything in our respective technical areas, but what will have the lasting impact would be the one that you will be proud of that throughout and even after your career. In this talk, I will discuss steps on doing impactful research that will result in high-quality publications. I will discuss research strategies and the impact of journals in our field and how to choose the best venue in disseminating our research results.
