Abstract:

We will give an introduction to combinatorics on words and outline its applications to Theoretical computer Science. A review of the basic properties of primitive words, primitive root of a word, commutation of words will be provided. We will also review the Mobius Inversion Formula and its applications. A special focus is put on the product of two primitive words with the same length.

 

Short bio of presenter:

The area of research of O. Echi includes combinatorics, elementary number theory, category theory and general topology.
